Displaced
VIOLA PINEIDER 2020
No face coincides with a single image of itself. The masks of Displaced cover the face in zones, uncovering one eye while concealing another, and from this surfacing and vanishing comes a portrait that refuses to stay one.
The strips of reclaimed wood, mounted on cords and articulated together, set identity back in motion instead of guarding it.
